Do you use blood or urine to test for trichomoniasis?

We use a urine test to screen for Trichomonas vaginalis, the parasite that causes trichomoniasis. This method is simple, accurate, and noninvasive, no blood draw, swabbing, or undressing is required. You'll just provide a small urine sample for lab analysis.
How do I read my trichomoniasis test results?
Your results will clearly indicate whether Trichomonas vaginalis was detected or not detected. A "detected" result means an active infection is present and treatment is needed. A "not detected" result means no trichomonas DNA was found in your sample.

Is there a trichomoniasis cure?

Yes. Trichomoniasis is easily curable with prescription antibiotics. If you test positive, you are eligible for a consultation with one of our clinicians; and if need be, antibiotics can be prescribed for you.
